THE OIL MILL - TRASIMENO LAKE
The Pozzuolese Oil Mill Cooperative, located among the green hills of Umbria, is located just 4 km from Castiglione del Lago, a splendid medieval town, included in the guide of the “most beautiful villages in Italy”, which overlooks the shores of Lake Trasimeno .
It was born in 1969, as a derivation of an old oil mill dating back to 1900, with the aim of enhancing and improving the quality of the oil of over 250 members, highlighting its qualities and offering it to consumers with a fair quality / price ratio.
Our technologically advanced oil mill allows us to operate cold, limiting the use of water to a minimum while respecting environmental resources. The entire processing cycle is controlled in order to guarantee the very high quality of our oil. Storage and packaging are carried out in rooms with a controlled temperature of 17 ° C, the steel tanks are inerted with food nitrogen, to safeguard the organoleptic and chemical characteristics of the product.
Last but not least, the Cooperative uses 100% of electricity produced from renewable sources.

THE QUALITY OF OUR OIL:
Our oil is characterized by its light green color and by the net fruity aroma of olive: light, fresh and lively with fine sensations of light and spicy bitterness.
It is made sweeter by the climate of the area mitigated by the waters of Lake Trasimeno and by the Agogia (native cultivar), which marries Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo.
Its perfect balance makes it ideal for the enhancement of cuisine in general, and in particular for fish, confirming with this use, not only the agricultural but also the cultural value of the “Oro del Trasimeno”.

Flos Olei is a real journey around the world of quality extra virgin olive oil. 2024 marks the thirteenth edition of the guide unanimously considered the most important publication in the sector worldwide. A sort of olive growing atlas available in Italian-English, Italian-Spanish and Italian-Chinese, which reviews as many as 500 farms of excellence from 5 continents, for a total of 56 countries.
