Dolce Agogia is unquestionably the variety of olive tree that characterizes olive growing in the Perugino area and Lake Trasimeno in Umbria. The presence of this ancient variety, in fact, is not reported in any other Italian region.
Olive trees of the Dolce Agogia variety are vigorous plants and very resistant to cold winter temperatures, but they tend to suffer from lack of water. They are at home on the wetlands around Lake Trasimeno, on the border with Tuscany between the provinces of Siena and Arezzo, and in other Umbrian areas around Perugia, rich in waterways.
Dolce Agogia olives, to produce an excellent quality extra virgin olive oil, require an early harvest (usually towards the end of October), because the fruits tend to detach from the branches before they are fully ripened.
Our Dolce Agogia Monocultivar EVO Oil stands out for its light green color with golden reflections. It is an oil that can be classified as medium-light fruity, with a delicate scent of cut grass and artichoke.
In the mouth it is soft and balanced. The light bitter notes and the growing spiciness close with soft and almondy tones that enhance the aroma.
